This month, Robinson Helicopter Company announced that the global fleet of R44 helicopters has officially logged over 10 million flight hours, cementing its status as one of the most widely flown helicopters in the world.

First delivered in 1993, the R44 quickly became a cornerstone of personal, commercial, and instructional rotorcraft operations thanks to its combination of simplicity, affordability, and versatility.

Key milestones and highlights of the R44 legacy:
Over 6,000 units produced—the R44 has been delivered to operators in more than 100 countries.
✅ Used for flight training, aerial photography, utility work, law enforcement, and private transport.
✅ Powered by a Lycoming O-540 engine, the R44 delivers a top cruise speed around 110 knots with a range exceeding 300 nautical miles.
